Motherhood - By Laurie Curcio

May 12, 2024 - Mother’s Day

How Motherhood in our culture has been attacked and what the Lord says to counter the negative narratives -

Many of the mindsets of motherhood today were originally instituted in the humanistic manifesto and the communistic manifesto of Karl Marx.

Here are a few narratives that even many in the humanistic church cultures have embraced.

  1. Home is bad. Betty Friedan called it a “comfortable concentration camp.”
  2. Men are bad. The patriarchy is the source of women’s oppression.
  3. Women are good and are victims. They must always be believed.
  4. Work makes us free and independent. (Sound familiar? Arbeit Macht frei is emblazoned over the gate into Auschwitz.) Arbeit macht frei([ˈaʁbaɪt ˈmaxt ˈfʁaɪ] ⓘ) is a German phrase translated as "Work makes one free" or more idiomatically "Work sets you free" or "work liberates".
  5. Children inhibit work and make us dependent. (Article from the Federalist)

Who is Betty Friedan? -

She’s the author of the 1963 book “The Feminine Mystique”.
She was active in both Marxist and Jewish circles. Betty was born to Harry and Miriam Goldstein. Betty’s mom had to get a job after her father fell ill. Miriam wrote for the society page in a newspaper. Her mothers new life outside the home, “seemed” more gratifying. A lot of her activism stemmed from her passion against the injustice of anti semitism. (How ironic now, in our day with all the pro hamas and anti Jewish protests on so many college campuses)

In 1973, Friedan was one of the signers of the Humanist Manifesto II.[86]

In a United Kingdom article, many in the government were mad about moms staying at home to raise their kids because it denied the government more tax revenue. It also denied the government more tax revenue coming from the day care and preschools.

The God of mammon (love of money) has a lot to do with making life so difficult financially, that it makes it very difficult for women to be able to raise their own children in the home.

I think the time has come for mothers to be compensated directly for raising their own children!!!

A lot of the move of freedom for woman seemed to be good in equal pay for equal work, the right to vote, and in Marxism coming against child labor laws. The foundation, however, being anti Christ and atheistic, always becomes seductive and out of the order of God’s Kingdom. God’s kingdom order in our lives is the only way to bring true freedom and equality for all of mankind.

These mindsets have also seeped into our modern church cultures that view the children as a burden to parents that the church tries to alleviate. In some cases the church has become a glorified babysitting center.

I even saw an actual poster in Patchogue outside a church inviting people to come and drop their children off at the church so the parents could go out for dinner? Wow, a recipe for disaster!!! It all sounds so nice doesn’t it?

There’s nothing wrong with having the children learn about the Lord at their age levels. There’s not one way to do this. Whatever happened to the old fashioned way of parents, train up and teach your children the ways of the Lord?

What about parents or grandparents being present to observe what they are being taught in children’s church while they are young? What about them participating in their learning? (Mommy and Me concept)

The increase in children falling through the cracks and being abused in many church’s and elsewhere, demands that we take another look at our mindsets and where they have originated concerning raising our children.

Satan disguises everything he does in seemingly “good and even biblical” things, but the true intents are devious and destructive. He is an enemy.
He comes to steal, kill and destroy. God comes to bring life and life more abundantly.

John 10:10 -

New King James Version
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

What the word says in answers to the five humanistic/marxist narratives above -

Colossians 2:8

New King James Version

8 Beware lest anyone [a]cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

  1. Home is not a “comfortable concentration camp”. Home is supposed to be a place where the atmosphere of heaven dwells. Isaiah 32:18 My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. Home is to be the place of safety, sanctuary, nurture and creativity to develop and fulfill God’s plan in the earth.
  2. Men are not bad. Proverbs 12:2. - A good man will obtain favor from the Lord, But He will condemn a man who devises evil.
  3. Woman are not “all good and just victims.” Romans 3:10-12 New King James Version10 As it is written:
“There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.

Woman don’t have to be or remain victims when they put their trust in Jesus.

Psalm 46:5-

New King James Version. -
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be [a]moved;
God shall help her, just [b]at the break of dawn.

  1. Work does not make us free and independent. (Liberated). John 8:32-3 - New King James Version. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

2 Corinthians 3:17

King James Version
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

The power of the Holy Spirit within us and guiding us is the true liberator of mankind.

Moses wanted to free the Israelites to go and worship the Lord. Pharaoh got mad and said they had too much time on their hands, (idle) and to double their work load. (Slavery)

Exodus 9:1-7

New King James Version

9 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me. (Worship Me)

So Pharaoh doubled their work load.

Exodus 5: 7-9 - 7 “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. 8 And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ (Worship) 9 Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words.”

Notice Pharaoh called the Word of God to Moses, “false words!” The devil is a liar and twists everything good to be bad, and everything bad to be good.

There’s healthy working as unto the Lord, then there’s slavery to working according to the course of this world under the anti christ spirit.

  1. “Children do not inhibit our work and make us dependent!” Psalm 127:3 Behold, children area heritage (blessing/gift) from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Psalm 127:4 - Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

What the Lord says about Mother hood -

Mothers nurture, and raise up the next generation in the Lord. A very high and noble profession!

2 Timothy 3:14-15

New King James Version

14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom (Grandmother and Mother) you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Timothy learned the scriptures and genuine faith from his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois (1 Tim. 1:5)

Malachi 2:15

New King James Version

But did He not make them one,(husband and wife)
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one? He seeks godly offspring.

We need the strength and power of the Holy Spirit to raise our children and grandchildren in the Lord. It’s takes a lifetime to mentor, learn, grow and train them, all while growing in the Lord ourselves as well.

In ourselves it can be an impossible journey. With the Lord, all things are possible.

Philippians 4:13

New King James Version

13 I can do all things through [a]Christ who strengthens me.

Isaiah 54:13-17

New King James Version

13
All your children shall be taught by the Lord,
And great shall be the peace of your children.

(Ella’s song to Jesus)

In This Blog I endeaver to share the nuggets OF WISDOM I have received from time spent communing with the lord

Celebrating 30 years in Ministry - By Laurie Curcio
Thursday - 5/18/23 Oasis Zoom Service
1 Thessalonians 2:4-6 - New King James Version
4 But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.
5 For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a [a]cloak for covetousness—God is witness. 6 Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.
How do I summarize 30 years of ministry? Start at the beginning -

Before going into the actual date and time that the Lord birthed our ministry, it’s important to chronicle where the Lord led us to go for training and impartation.
I came to the Lord in the summer of 1977, during the charismatic renewal within our local Catholic Church in Sayville. My husband came to the Lord in 1974 and went to my high school and even had my dad as a science teacher. The Lord brought us together in the summer of 1978, the year I graduated High School.
We had both gone to the same youth retreats and our paths crossed when he was back from his first year at Oral Robert’s University where the Lord led Pastor to go.
It was really a divine connection and set up that we both came together that summer after we both prayed the same prayers, of just wanting the next person we dated to be our future spouses. We were both done with the dating scene as usual.

While Pastor was at ORU I visited him and the church he was going to. Faith Christian Fellowship, Pastored by Buddy and Patsy Harrison. (Brother Hagin’s daughter). There was an instant connection with that faith based church and the anointing the Harrison’s flowed in. (The same anointing as Ma and Pa Goodwin)
The Lord called me to go out west and learn of the Lord the following year. It was in Pastors heart to go to Rhema, and after I prayed and had it confirmed through Pastor Larry Huggins under Pastor Buddy, I quit my job and went to Rhema the same year as Pastor before getting married in 1980.
Now before fast forwarding to the Lord birthing Oasis Christian Church in Patchogue in Jan. of 1993, I want to share the call and anointing of Bro. Kenneth E. Hagin. We were trained and ordained under him and the transmission and anointing on Him has been passed to those under him.

Brother Hagin had a unique call to the body of Christ to prepare the end time army for the second coming of Jesus. His mandate was to teach God’s people Faith. But he was called from before he was born, and was supposed to be given the name John as he was to prepare the way of the second coming of Jesus the way John the Baptist prepared for Jesus first coming. In the Spirit and anointing of Elijah.
What was the calling on John the Baptist? -
Matthew 3:3
New King James Version
John the Baptist Prepares the Way
3 :3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.’ ”
Luke 1:17
New King James Version

17 He (John) will also go before Him (Jesus) in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Matthew 3:10-11
New King James Version
10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 I (John) indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit [a]and fire.
Who was the Prophet Elijah and what were his works? -
Elijah was raised up by God during the reign of King Ahab and Jezebel over Israel.

He confronted the prophets of Baal and the spiritual corruption going on in Israel.
He did according to the word of the Lord and had the most unusual signs and wonders to correct the corruption in Israel.
What were some of the signs and wonders that took place during the time of Elijah? -
1. The widow of Zarephath received supernatural provision of flour for bread and oil after listening to Elijah’s instructions. 1 Kings 17:13-15
2. Elijah revives widow’s son. Resurrection of the dead.
3. He operated in such power by God that he was able to speak to the rain and it stopped for years. 1 Kings 17:1
Brother Hagin also operated in such an unusual anointing and had many signs and wonders that

took place in his ministry as well. The Spirit of Elijah and his mantle was truly on his ministry.
These are some of the anointings that we were honored to receive when Bro. Hagin laid hands on us to ordain us in 1997.
Oasis was birthed in Jan of 1993, and was born in signs and wonders. There were shakings in the earth that took place as the Lord was establishing His lamp stand in this region.
Many miracles, like tumors on a woman’s brain disappeared after praying for her.
Children and teens having visitations of the Lord.
Our primary call was very similar to what John the Baptist was called to do.
Acts 3:19
New King James Version

19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
These times of refreshing were to come through worshiping the Lord in Spirit and truth and psalming.
Ephesians 5:15-19
New King James Version
Walk in Wisdom
15 See then that you walk [a]circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

We also have a strong desire to want to see the hearts of the Fathers turned to the children and the hearts of the children to be turned to the Fathers.
Malachi 4:5-6
New King James Version
5
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
6
And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
The Elijah anointing straightens crooked places and prepares the way for the Glory of God.
So the call on Oasis to bring times of refreshing after repenting or changing by coming out of the worlds mindsets and corruption, through true worship helps to usher in the anointed Glory of the Lord.

Dick Mills, another prophet of the Lord who has roots back to Aimee Semple McPherson, prophesied over Pastor John in 1978 at ORU and again 18 years later at our Church. (Oasis Christian Center)
This was the scripture he prophesied over us -
Habakkuk 2:2-3
New King James Version
The Just Live by Faith
2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3
For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

What is the Vision for the appointed time?
Habakkuk 3:3-4
New King James Version
3
God came from Teman,
The Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens,
And the earth was full of His praise.
4
His brightness was like the light;
He had rays flashing from His hand, And there His power was hidden.
So John the Baptist prepared the way for the Glory of Jesus through the Spirit and power of Elijah, during a time when wickedness was covering the earth.
Bro. Hagin was called to raise up the end time army of the Lord by teaching them faith, and knowing their authority in Jesus, by the same prophetic anointing of Elijah.

So here we are as the Oasis church family on the precipice of such evil taking place in our nation, and the call has been passed on and is the same.
Repent and change so that times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord can come by faith, entering the throne room through spirit anointed praise and worship, to help the families be restored in order for the Glory of the Lord to cover the earth and bring fire down on the prophets of Baal going after the children!
A day of distinction between the true and the false, through knowing the Rhema or spirit anointed word of God!
A day of signs and wonders all across the earth!
We as a church have a wonderful part in this season of fullness or harvest of maturity in the Kingdom of God.

No part is small in God’s eyes as we all stay in our lane, doing what we are each called and designed to do.
Galatians 6:9
King James Version
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint no

Scripture for The New Year - 1/1/20

By Laurie Curcio

Time for the Glory

Haggai 2:9 - The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. (Lord Sabbaoth) And in this place (of glory) I will give peace, says the Lord of hosts. (Sabbaoth)

Prior to this outpouring of glory, God is going to first shake the nations.

Haggai 2: 6-8 - For thus says the Lord of hosts: (Lord Sabbaoth) Once more (it is a little while) I will shake the heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7. And I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory, says the Lord of Hosts. (Lord Sabbaoth). 8. The silver and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts. (Lord Sabbaoth)

The Lord Sabbaoth is mentioned 5 times in Haggai 2: 6-9. This is the number of God’s Grace.

This is the pattern for God’s
people to enter into God’s glory.

1. First the shaking
2. The loosing of the silver and the gold. (Financial inversion)
3. The filling of God’s temple or house with Glory. (The body of Christ)

What is the purpose of the shaking of the nations?

Hebrews 12:25-27 New King James Version (NKJV)

Hear the Heavenly Voice

25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I [a]shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

The Ways of Wisdom

11/2/2018

God's wisdom is the most important thing we could ever seek after and know. He who created the universe and all that is within it said He would give it liberally to us if we asked Him. We are to go after wisdom like a hidden treasure, for its value is priceless! We are to pray for it as well.

Col. 1: 9 - For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in ALL WISDOM and spiritual understanding.

James 1: 5 - 7 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upraideth not (without reproach) and it shall be given him.

James 3: 17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Why is wisdom so important? -

Every problem we have, or could ever have, can be resolved through God's wisdom and spiritual understanding. His wisdom is way beyond knowledge or what the intellect could ever understand. It is a spiritual way of living, seeing, and understanding God and all He has made. Wisdom is God's way of operating. It can be ours as well. Wisdom will accomplish what we never could by ourselves. Wisdom makes a way for us, a place for us to dwell securely, when storms are all around us.

Prov. 2: 13-15 - Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; For her proceeds are better than profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold. She (wisdom) is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.

Wisdom is also defined as a home, a place, or abode. Wisdom is also referred to as a "she".

Proverbs 9: 1 - 7 - The Seven pillars of wisdom

1. Wisdom has built her house - Wisdom builds places of abode for rest, shelter, nourishment, safety and security.

2. She has hewn (carved) out her seven pillars - These are carvings of stone analogues used for bedrock foundations and sculpting great edifices, carved out of stone. Jesus is called the chief cornerstone.

3. She has slaughtered her meat - Sustenance, food, proteins are the building blocks of our bodies. Naturally and spiritually speaking, we only grow when we eat. Even the scriptures are likened to milk and meat. It requires maturity to eat the meat of the word of God.

Hebrews 5: 13-14 - For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses (soul) exercised to discern both good and evil.

4. She has mixed her wine - Joy, and celebrations bring the family together. Jesus first miracle was making wine at a wedding. He made the best wine, and saved it for last. Wine is also symbolic of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2. Amazing how wisdom is connected with being full of the new wine of the Holy Spirit.

5. She has furnished her table - Making and setting the table is a symbol of preparation for guests, family and friends to gather and commune together. This is where we catch up on events, share stories, and connect from the heart. I love to set a pretty table for the holidays or special occasions. God prepares a table for us even in the midst of our enemies! Jesus said He is going to prepare a "place" for us, His church.

6. She has sent out her maidens - Those who would help her get ready and prepare her home and table for a beautiful supper and gathering. These are helpers. Spiritually speaking, all who pray and give of their substance, operate in the ministry of helps. This helps the Pastoral ministry immensely by being able to focus on prayer and preparing the meat of the word.

7. She cries out from the highest places of the city - A cry in one's spirit through prayer for God's people to gather as a family is very precious to Him. A good mother's heart ever cries for the union and communion or her family and close friends. The cry is this, come to the Lord, come to this place of union and communion together. Come and sit at the masters feet and partake of the meat of His word, come drink the wine of His spirit until you are filled, and rejoice in the Lord's love for us! Come enjoy the peace and security of the habitation or abode of the Lord's building. A building not made with hands. Come yield and hear the cry of His heartbeat to sit by the still waters and learn of Him. Eat and drink to the full, for there is no lack in His habitation of glory! The Lord cries out to us from the high places of his throne room in the heavenlies, where we are now seated with Christ.

The call or cry for wisdom is simple -

1. Proverbs 9: 4 - whoever is simple (ignorant), let him turn in here! (To the house wisdom has built)

2. Vs. 4 (Con't) - As for him who lacks understanding, she (wisdom) says to him, Come eat of my bread and drink of the wine I have mixed. (The food and wine that comes from heaven)

3. Proverbs 9: 6 - Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the WAY of understanding.

Three things that instruction does for the wise -

1. Prov. 9: 8 - Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

2. Prov. 9: 9 - Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser.

3. Vs. 9 (Con't) - Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

How do we receive God's wisdom? -

Prov. 9: 10 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy one is understanding!

So respecting and honoring the Lord, and having a genuine intimate knowledge of the Holy one is true understanding at its best! Without this foundation, nothing else can be truly learned. This type of wisdom and understanding always requires a deep level relationship with our Lord. The fruit of wisdom and true understanding of the Lord and His will for our lives, will always manifest and produce much blessing for those we are called to minister to.

Now that we know what wisdom is, what are her benefits? -

1. Long life - Prov. 9:11 - For by me your days will be multiplied and years of life will be added to you.

2. Receives commands - Prov. 9: 8 - (yield able)

3. Speaks correctly - Prov. 9: 13 - Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding.

4. Great memory - Prov. 9: 14 - Wise people store up knowledge.

5. Self control - Prov. 9: 14 - But he who restrains his lips is wise.

6. Understanding - Prov. 9: 23 - A man of understanding has wisdom.

7. Humility - Prov. 11: 2 - But with the humble is wisdom.

8. High position - Prov. 11: 29 - the fool will be servant to the wise

9. Influences others - Prov. 11: 30 - he who wins souls is wise.

10. Esteem - Prov. 12: 8 - A man will be commended according to his wisdom.

11. Receptivity - Prov. 12: 15 - he who heeds counsel is wise.

12. Health through right speaking - Prov. 12: 15 - The tongue of the wise promotes health.

13. Strong family bonds - Prov. 13: 1 - A wise son heeds his father's instruction.

14. Well advised - Prov. 12: 12 - With the well advised is wisdom.

15. Life - Prov. 13: 14 - The law of the wise is a fountain of life.

16. Understanding - Prov. 14: 8 - The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way.

17. Departs from evil - Prov. 14: 16 - A wise man fears (has sound reverence) and departs from evil.

18. Riches - Prov. 14: 24 - The crown of the wise is their riches. (a crown denotes a position of royalty)
