Journey of faith
State Of The Church 2023 coming soon

In 1988 I was at a men’s meeting and the pastor asked us to state and proclaim our five-year plan. I got up and said I wanted to start a business and with that business I wanted to be able to seamlessly flow into ministry. I wanted the freedom to make my own hours and donate time to serve the body of Christ. At the same time, Laurie was ministering and mentoring children and moms in the neighborhood. Some of whom became our first members of Oasis. Sure enough, the time came for us and we began a small home-improvement company. With the freedom we were able to volunteer at a local Christian school. Over time, we desired to serve the Lord more. I told the Lord I was willing to swing a hammer for the rest of my life according to his will. Laurie did not want a man plan but a God plan. At the appointed time, (June 1993) a small home Bible study developed into a full-time ministry. The Lord spoke to our hearts to go full-time and to trust him for the finances. He said he would raise the people up that would be supportive of the ministry. As I read scripture I see that it confirms that. Here are three verses.
1 Timothy 5:18 (KJV) For the scripture says, You shall not muzzle the ox that treads out the corn. And, The labourer [is] worthy of his reward. 1 Corinthians 9:14 (KJV) Even so has the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. Galatians 6:6 (KJV) Let him that is taught in the word communicate ( support ) unto him that teaches in all good things. God has been faithful for the last 30 years to be true to His promise. Pastor Laurie and I are honored to serve the Lord and his people all these years. Thank you for sharing that honor with us. We love you all. |
